With this latest achievement, the Kingdom’s overall tally at the NBPhO has risen to (29) international awards. This impressive record includes (2) gold medals, (10) silver medals, (12) bronze medals, and (5) certificates of appreciation. These accolades have been garnered across (7) participations, a journey that began when the Kingdom first joined the competition in 2020.
This participation is part of the Mawhiba International Olympiad Program, implemented by King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education. Through this program, students undergo a comprehensive qualifying journey, including national competitions and specialized training programs supervised by local and international experts. Launched in 1992, the NBPhO originated as a regional contest established through cooperation between Estonia and Finland to nominate their respective teams for the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO). It has since evolved into one of the world's most prominent scientific competitions, with approximately (15) countries participating annually.
Students participating in international Olympiads undergo intensive, year-round training programs implemented by Mawhiba. These programs encompass multiple stages of theoretical and practical scientific qualification, alongside domestic and international training camps. This rigorous preparation aims to refine their skills in solving advanced physics problems and bolster their readiness for international competition, ultimately contributing to a distinguished representation of the Kingdom in global scientific forums.
King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" is a globally leading institution in identifying, fostering and empowering the gifted students. Serving as a national system for giftedness and creativity, it operates according to a strategic plan to foster giftedness, creativity, and innovation within scientific domains of national priority. These efforts are dedicated to building a knowledge-based society and fostering a vibrant culture of innovation.
