The Saudi Science and Engineering Team is continuing its participation in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2026, held in Phoenix, Arizona, from May 9–15, 2026, alongside more than 1,700 students representing approximately 70 countries worldwide.
Today, participating students completed the accreditation process for their research projects, set up their science booths, and installed their project display boards on the exhibition floor, as part of the organizational and technical preparations ahead of the judging sessions scheduled to begin later this week.
Students also took part in a number of introductory meetings and side events accompanying the fair, where they explored innovative projects and scientific ideas presented by participants from around the world, within an inspiring scientific environment that brought together some of the world’s most talented students and young researchers.
The Saudi team comprises 42 male and female students, of whom 23 are participating in person in Phoenix, 17 are competing remotely from Riyadh in addition to 2 observers.
Represented by King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia has participated in ISEF annually since 2007. Across its previous participation, the Kingdom has secured 185 awards, including 124 grand awards and 61 special awards. At last year's edition, Saudi Arabia ranked second globally in grand awards, surpassed only by the United States.
The Saudi students, selected from among the grand award winners at The National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity (Ibdaa), are presenting outstanding research projects across a range of promising fields, reflecting the high level of scientific and innovative excellence that Saudi students have achieved.
ISEF is regarded as the world’s largest platform for research and innovation projects for pre-university students. Submissions are evaluated by a distinguished panel of international scientists and experts, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their projects and demonstrate their research and innovative capabilities before a global audience of specialists.
