The announcement revealed a new scientific achievement for the Saudi Biology Team, which won one silver medal, two bronze medals, and a certificate of appreciation.
These achievements culminated months of intensive preparation, through a specialized training program of more than 2,800 training hours per student, organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education.
The silver medal was awarded to Abdullah Hajjid Al-Subaie (General Directorate of Education in Taif), while bronze medals went to Hamzah Mohammed Baissi (General Administration of Education in Riyadh), and Ziyad Ahmed Al-Namri (Royal Commission of Education in Yanbu), and Hassan Abdullah Al-Bahhar (General Administration of Education in Riyadh) received a certificate of appreciation.
This achievement extends the Kingdom’s successful record in the IBO since joining in 2022, bringing its overall tally to 4 silver medals, 7 bronze medals, and 4 certificates of appreciation, reassuring the ongoing advancement of Saudi students’ scientific capabilities and their growing competitiveness on the global stage.
Launched in 1990 in the Czech Republic, the IBO is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious scientific contests, targeting gifted students in grades 10-12. It features rigorous theoretical and practical tests designed to enhance participants’ scientific reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills across diverse disciplines of biology.
