The Saudi Team competing in the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2025) earned four bronze medals during its participation in the 57th edition of the competition, hosted by Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with 360 students participating from more than 90 countries around the world.
The Team comprised Rand Al-Hassan Awadah (General Administration of Education in Riyadh), Haider Yasser Al-Dubaisi (General Directorate of Education in the Eastern Province), Ammar Mohammed Al-Turkistani (General Directorate of Education in Jeddah), and Ali Ahmed Bawazeer (General Administration of Education in Riyadh). They underwent intensive training and preparation under the supervision of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, through programs designed to enhance their scientific expertise in chemistry.
The students are scheduled to return home via King Khalid International Airport tomorrow, bringing with them four new global awards in chemistry.
The IChO, established in 1968, is a prestigious global competition, aimed at fostering scientific exchange among students and encouraging creative problem-solving and critical thinking in chemistry.
These medals add to Saudi Arabia’s impressive record in previous IChO participations, bringing the kingdom’s overall tally to 49 awards, including 15 silver medals, 32 bronze medals, and 2 certificates of appreciation.
