The Saudi National Chemistry Team has achieved a new international milestone by securing four medals—three silver and one bronze—in its first-ever participation at the Abu Rayhan Biruni International Chemistry Olympiad (ARBIChO 2025), held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from May 28 to June 4, with 111 students representing 14 countries.

The Kingdom’s participation featured four Saudi students, all of whom underwent rigorous scientific training through specialized programs delivered by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in collaboration with leading local and international universities and research centers, and as part of its strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education.

The silver medals were awarded to Ammar Mohammed Al-Turkiastani (General Directorate of Education in Jeddah), Haider Yasser Al-Dubeissi (General Directorate of Education in the Eastern Province), and Ali Ahmed Bawazeer (General Directorate of Education in Riyadh). Meanwhile, Rand Al-Hassan Awadhah, from the General Directorate of Education in Riyadh, earned the bronze medal.

This remarkable achievement highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting and empowering young, gifted nationals in science and technology. It underscores the Kingdom’s strategic investment in its youth and its rising prominence on the global map of scientific excellence.

This participation marks a strategic leap in broadening Saudi Arabia’s engagement in international Olympiads and in seizing global scientific opportunities to foster gifted students, foster innovation, and build a creative generation that will contribute to the realization of Saudi Vision 2030.
